Do I have to be a good singer to bring my child to Kindermusik®?
No, your child loves your voice, no matter what you or anyone else thinks of it. Don't believe it? Jessica Solares, a fellow Kindermusik® educator, put it this way, "Wouldn't you give anything to hear your grandmother's voice again? Or if your spouse is traveling, it's so comforting to talk to them on the phone. That's because you are emotionally attached to them, just like your child is emotionally attached to you!" There is no singing judgement in our Kindermusik® classroom. If you truly don't feel comfortable singing in class, you can hum or chant along, or somehow vocally participate with your little one, and then go try it at home.

Is my baby too young for Kindermusik®?
No -- attending a Kindermusik® class with a young infant is similar to planting a seed... Though you may feel like you aren't seeing any progress, trust that there are roots of learning growing beneath the surface. Your Kindermusik® educator will tune you into your baby's development, and you will be delighted watch your child progress.
Foundations curriculum is specifically designed with infants in mind. Class activities include sign language, tummy time, infant massage, motor planning activities, circle dances, and more... With the use of Kindermusik® Online, the activities from Kindermusik® class are easily replicable for you to do with your baby throughout the week.
During the newborn phase, parents often attend Foundations classes to facilitate connections -- connections between mom and baby as well as between mom and other moms. Kindermusik® offers a supportive environment for moms entering (or re-entering) the journey of parenthood. Friendships formed inside our Kindermusik® classroom often last years longer than the class itself!

How do I decide which class is best for my child who is almost/just turned (insert age here)?
If your child is between ages, please contact us before enrolling in a class. We want your child to be in the class that that best fits his or her age and stage of development. A class placement recommendation can usually be made after a short phone call. For more information about class placement, visit Which Class is Right for My Child?

What if my child has special needs or delays?
Music often reaches children in a way other therapies can't. In Kindermusik®, it's about process, not performance. We encourage exploration without expectation, so children can have fun and participate where they are. We celebrate every accomplishment, no matter how big or small. One of the beautiful aspects of Kindermusik®'s curricula is that class structure, pacing, and activities are flexible, and are adaptable to meet every child's needs. If you would like to contact us before enrolling, we'd love to learn more about your child and help you find the perfect class.
